Job Summary
Responsible for research, analytics, and product development in key markets to drive growth in key markets and value-added services. This role will collaborate closely with the Marketing team to identify new market penetration opportunities in both existing and emerging markets, independently leading initiatives using cross-functional teams.

Primary Activities and Responsibilities

  • Develop strategies for key markets by conducting market analytics and research such as sizing the market, understanding growth trajectory, secular trends, and key drivers of the broader supply chain, and leveraging knowledge of CSX operations and industry expertise
  • Evaluate market evolution and key customer/competitive initiatives; identify plan and infrastructure expansions in partnership with Industrial Development
  • Lead the development of reporting and analytical tools using Tableau, Alteryx, and other software platforms to share Commercial data with broad audiences and stakeholders and proposing solutions to drive growth
  • Develop modal competitive intelligence to enhance and improve commercial processes and drive modal conversion opportunities
  • Evaluate how markets are evolving along with key customer and competitor initiatives
  • Develop intelligence to understand CSX's competitive position in specific Commercial markets
  • Partner with Marketing teams to identify infrastructure expansion opportunities, as well as robust marketing plans, and potential acquisition targets
  • Miscellaneous activities and responsibilities as assigned by manager

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree/4-year Degree
  • 5 or more years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate Degree
  • 5 or more years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business or a related field

Knowledge and Skills

  • Analytical, quantitative and problem-solving skills
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts, including revenue analysis
  • Demonstrated experience conducting extensive data synthesis and analysis
  • Ability to design and deliver presentations for a variety of audiences, including senior leadership
  • Proactive, effective consultative skills to assist business leaders in achieving business objectives
  • Ability to independently participate in and lead complex cross-functional projects
  • Demonstrated aptitude working in financial systems and developing reporting
