JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective

The Sales and Marketing Associate is a customer-facing position responsible for generating sales and sharing initial information about the companys products, services, programs, and policies. Our Sales and Marketing Associate is primarily a field-based role. The ideal individual should be dynamic, full of energy, and an excellent communicator. The incumbent will be capable of generating customer leads using various strategies, including verbal, written, graphic print, and other marketing techniques.

About Four Friends Fitness

Suitable for all fitness levels, Four Friends Fitness is a new concept in womens personal training. It is one that focuses on steady progress and accountability to help our members achieve their goals of physical fitness as well as seeing real change in their body and health over time.

Our members train in groups of up to four hence Four Friends. We feel that this supports accountability to the fitness program and helps members look forward to their sessions even more, which is very helpful, especially at the beginning.

Essential Sales-Related Functions

  • Attend trade shows and other events where potential customers may be in high-attendance
  • Maintain the presentation of the sales floor, products, signage, and displays
  • Accept onsite payments at tradeshows and other field events, as applicable, according to company processes and policies
  • Generate sales leads by greeting, engaging, soliciting, and/or approaching potential clients and informing them of company products, services and programs
  • Answer customer inquiries concerning products, services, and programs
  • Schedule and prequalify potential customers using established company processes
  • Maintain a professional and welcoming appearance and demeanor
  • Direct customers to merchandise as necessary
  • Cross-sell products or services to increase sales
  • Address first-line complaints using critical communication skills and knowledge concerning company products, services, policies, or programs
  • Assess customer needs to determine optimal product or services to offer
  • Use computers and software to schedule, coordinate, and manage customer leads
  • Follow up with customers via phone, email or in person as necessary to ensure customer inquiries have been addressed
  • Attend Networking Events
  • Attend On and Off-Site events created by studio

  • Plan and implement marketing strategies, including using various verbal, written, graphic print, and other marketing techniques
  • Conduct market research, collect and analyze data, and document marketing efforts

Work Environment

This job is primarily a field-based role.  Most sales-related functions will occur at indoor tradeshows and offsite events. Most shows will be indoors, but some events may occur outside. Outside events will have tent covering and seating for table or booth attendants. Additionally, the Sales and Marketing Associate may be required to work in-office (gym/studio) as a client-facing role for first-time visitors or new potential customers.  Marketing responsibilities will require the use of office equipment which can be used at home or other conducive environments for completing tasks like scheduling, creating documents or marketing ad material. The role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. The position may require brief tours around the studio or gym equipment but does not require the use, maintenance, or contact with equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to talk and hear, regularly. The employee is frequently required to use mobility actively solicit potential customers at events and tradeshows. (Note: Mobility includes walking or using mobility aids as or if necessary, including, but not limited to wheelchairs, electric wheelchairs or other aids). The employee is occasionally required to lift or move up to 20 pounds at a time for purposes like transporting signage, print material or other marketing material. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and the ability to create, review, and revise graphic or text marketing material.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a part-time position. Days and hours of work vary between Monday through Saturday, 8:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Travel

Local travel may be required for this position. Locations may be nearby cities or other local areas where events or potential clientele is prominent. The role may require door-to-door sales and marketing efforts.

Required Education and Experience

  • Two (2) years of sales experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A high school diploma or higher
  • A professional appearance
  • The ability to read, write, and perform basic math

Preferred Education and Experience

  • Bachelors in Sales, Marketing, or Business
  • Experience working in a gym, fitness studio, or similar environment
  • Tradeshow experience
  • Recruiting or Sales experience
