Medical Search International is looking for a Registered Nurse (RN) for a prominent healthcare system located in Northern Florida near historic downtown neighborhoods and beautiful coastal beaches. The area has many perks, including an excellent school system, reasonable cost-of-living and a booming downtown/business area.
The RN is responsible for direct patient care, patient and family education, and transition of care to various levels of the hospital. The RN will be held accountable for planning, implementing, evaluating and communicating all phases of nursing care for assigned patients across the continuum of care and across all practice settings to meet the needs of the patient and family. The American Nurses Association will provide the scope and standards of practice for the RN. The RN will also assist with informal leadership roles, preceptor responsibilities and quality improvement efforts. The RN will delegate patient care according to skill level, experience, patient acuity, fiscal responsibility, and adequacy of efforts. The RN will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, mentoring skills, and the ability to contribute to committees and engage in additional projects.
Graduate of an Associate’s degree or diploma program accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). If the nursing program was not accredited by the ACEN, at least one year of RN experience in the last 5 years in an applicable care setting is required. If graduation was not within the last two years, one year of RN experience in an applicable care setting is required.
All entry-level Associate degree registered nurses with a start date after January 1, 2013 must provide documented evidence of a baccalaureate degree of nursing from an accredited nursing program within 6 years from the last day of the month of their RN start date.
One year of RN experience within the last five years preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience working in a team environment. Computer skills required. Prior experience with electronic medical record systems preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, which may include days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call hours. Ability to adapt to unpredictable situations within the work environment. Demonstrated leadership and excellent critical thinking skills.
License or certification:
Current RN license by applicable state requirements. Maintains Basic Life Support (BLS) competency. Additional specialty certification/training as required by the work area.
