Alluvion, a Vaco company, is hiring a Recruiting Specialist in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a contract role that has potential to go permanent.

The Recruiting Specialist is responsible for interviewing, assessing and referring applicants for clerical, technical, administrative, operational and management positions throughout the company. This position must possess considerable skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all standard and specialized functions in the company, a basic understanding of the company's organizational structure. The Recruiting Specialist must possess extensive knowledge of human resources policy and procedures, and federal/state laws regarding employment practices.

Job Duties

  • Develops recruitment strategies to achieve required staffing levels
  • Develops and maintains an excellent relationship with internal and external customers to ensure achievement of staffing goals
  • Partners with hiring managers to determine staffing needs and best recruiting process for position(s)
  • Processes job requisitions, screens resumes, interviews candidates (by phone or in person), administers appropriate assessments and reference/background checking, drug testing, employment verifications, arranges travel and lodging for applicants when necessary
  • Supports hiring managers to ensure compliance with all federal/state laws and regulations, including affirmative action plan compliance
  • Makes recommendations for hire (or not hire) and delivers contingent employment offers
  • Develops and maintains professional relationships with university and local community placement offices as a source to generate qualified applicants
  • Uses traditional and nontraditional resources, such as career fairs, online job fairs, community network events, etc., to identify and attract quality candidates
  • Schedules, organizes and attends career fairs to generate qualified applicants
  • Develops internal and external advertising programs to ensure high visibility with potential candidates.
  • Manages internal transfer & promotion process, including screening, coordination of interviews with hiring manager, internal offer letters, etc.
  • Conducts surveys with candidates and hiring managers to obtain feedback regarding hiring process.
  • Communicates important employment information during delivery of employment offers (e.g., benefits, compensation, non-compete agreements)
  • Manages candidate activity in the applicant tracking system (ATS) through ADP
  • Maintains employee referral program
  • Follows up with the related clerical aspects of employment, such as entering new hire data
  • Completes weekly report on employment activity. Maintains records on recruiting activities
  • Researches, analyzes, prepares and presents hiring statistics and compensation data
  • Assists hiring managers in creating new job descriptions and updating current job descriptions
  • Other job responsibilities and tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • Experience with ADP, LinkedIn, and other applicable on-line resources & job boards.
  • Administrative experience such as data entry, managing data driven report processes or detailed processes that have a lot of components to manage.
  • Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
  • Able to work independently, seek answers when help is needed and motivated to seek out additional tasks for completion.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Able to multi task and manage details of different processes efficiently.

Education & Experience

  • 3+ years of prior recruiting experience in a professional office setting.
  • Additional recruiting experience for Customer Service & Light Industrial highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in human resources.
  • HRIS experience.
