Role Physical Properties Scientist Location Jacksonville, FL Shift M-F, 8AM-5PM MUST be fully vaccinated Purpose of Role Defines the requirements and qualifications needed to perform the job responsibilities of a Physical Properties, Physical Scientist- Combination Products I Responsibilities Perform routine testing support (per LIMS submissions or special testing requests to be communicated in writing) and method applicability activities per protocols. Provide feedback to improve existing methods. Sample types include solutions and lenses. Test samples using various multiple techniques and methodologies (e.g. refractive index using a refractometer, absorbancetransmission using spectrophotometer, mechanical properties using tensile techniques (Instron frame), gravimetric water content, oxygen permeability (custom instrument), contact angle (goniometer or tensiometer), and solution analyses (e.g. pH, conductivity, osmolarity). Final data review will be performed by Vision personnel. Analyze, review and report data generated using Labware LIMS. Job Functions Receives and organizes samples in the lab for routine testing. Set up instrumentation as needed for analysis. Prepare and analyze samples and controls as per indicated method or written special test request. Analyze data and enter results into Labware LIMS. Perform OOSOOT analysis and reports as needed. Support test method applicability via testing and data analysis based upon protocols. Follow approved SOP's. Follow all EHS policies for required PPE and waste management. Maintain a record of all work via laboratory notebook as per GxP guidelines. Perform all work based on GxP guidelines. Engage in open conversations about method improvements needed. Qualifications Bachelors degree in Material Science, Chemistry or related scientificengineering field, required. 1-2 years working experience in RD, GxP lab supporting pharmaceuticals or medical devices, or appropriate scientific field, preferred. Ability to operate analyticalphysical instruments with little to no supervision after training. Thorough knowledge, understanding and application of principles, concepts, and practices of cGMPGLPGDP guidelines.
