SUMMARY: Responsible for managing the execution of carrier development goals and objectives through developing plans to achieve growth and financial profitability.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Serves as an expert on the company's product and services portfolio. Leads the research, collection and analysis of data regarding new and existing market segments, carriers and trends. Identifies, evaluates and manages new business opportunities and marketing initiatives. Establishes relationships with potential clients and connects clients with appropriate operational personnel. Prepares bids, contract proposals and/or request for proposals. Serves as a liaison with carriers, vendors and other internal business partners. Administers assigned budget(s) and maintains statistical records for forecasting, analysis and reporting. Assists with development, enhancement and implementation of policies and procedures. May supervise staff and be accountable for performance management responsibilities.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing or a related field; or equivalent combination of post high school education and experience equal to four (4) years.
EXPERIENCE: 5 - 8 years of logistics, business development, sales and/or marketing experience in marine solutions, transportation and/or logistics industries.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook and Word.

Knowledge of contract negotiation and administration as well as the ability to execute contracts in compliance with corporate guidelines. Knowledge of data analysis techniques and methodology. Knowledge of marketing research techniques and tools.
