The Informatics Analyst - Epic will work closely with Medical Affairs and Information Services (IS), providing leadership and oversight for EPIC EMR implementation and will be responsible for coordinating aspects of planning, design, development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of informatics solutions. The Informatics Analyst will work with appropriate corporate and facility resources identify opportunities for improvement and implement appropriate changes in functionality or workflow for the Epic Implementation and to support our EMR and entire Informatics program. The Informatics Analyst will serve as point person for the Epic implementation as an analyst and will work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems. The Informatics Analyst will collaborate with Epic EMR to ensure Epic Implementation and subsequent Epic EMR support. The Informatics Analyst will ensure that existing data remains available for clinical, business and regulatory needs for future initiatives, and will serve as a resource for coordinating existing data and processes as new initiatives and solutions are deployed in the future.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

Informatics – 90%

  • Trained and Certified Epic Analyst
  • Researches and collaborates with compliance, security and legal to obtain clarification when questions arise
  • Collaborates with corporate leadership, clinicians and technical staff as an analyst to implement the Epic EMR.
  • Facilitates effective communication with the user community to ensure a seamless introduction of new functional elements of the Epic EMR.
  • Directs the design of appropriate user training for initiatives and upgrades in collaboration with clinical users.
  • Serves as change agent providing those impacted by the change with the understanding of why the change is necessary, the benefits of the change and the added value for the individuals impacted.
  • Facilitates communication and increase end user awareness of regulatory requirements.
  • Provides opportunities for those impacted to participate in the process.
  • Develops and executes appropriate communication plans and activities.
  • Maintains a positive and open attitude to change.
  • Works effectively with all levels within the organization. Serves as a liaison with existing and prospective users. Acts as a liaison with clinical staff to assess their needs and facilitates communications between clinicians and I.S. staff/vendors as needed.
  • Participates in the development of policies and procedures that support best practice
  • Provides leadership to clinical departments in identifying, developing, implementing and maintaining efficient, effective clinical information systems.
  • Initiates, maintains and communicates action plans regarding system implementation and support to appropriate members
  • Actively participates in conferences, seminars and professional organizations related to regulatory & interoperability informatics
  • Maintains patient, family, physician and employee confidentiality.
  • In collaboration with SHC Security teams, maintains knowledge of security issues related to the EHR.
  • Documents and describes user requirements.
  • Serves as change agent providing those impacted by the change with the understanding of why the change is necessary, the benefits of the change and the added value for the individuals impacted.
  • Facilitates communication and increase end user awareness of interoperability requirements.
  • Provides opportunities for those impacted to participate in the process.

Audits – 10%

  • Maintain records to support regulatory audits.
  • Assist as needed on historical audits as requested by Medical Affairs leadership, in collaboration with Compliance, Security and Legal.
