As a Healthcare Economics Consultant focused on the post-acute needs of our membership, you will design and develop reports and analyze data to measure clinical outcomes, network performance and methodology levers. You will investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and health care cost data. As a Consultant, you will interpret and analyze clinical data from various sources and recommend best approaches for its consolidation. Your analyses will be used to create viable, real - world solutions in a complex health care landscape. The work is as challenging as it is rewarding. You'll open doors to new opportunities. Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide administrative, claims, and membership data in support of actuarial and utilization analyses
  • Produce and review reports specific to skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and home health utilization
  • Identify potential areas for medical cost improvements and alternative pricing strategies
  • Create and update automated processes 
  • Analyze reporting tools utilized by internal customer groups

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of experience working with SAS
  • 2+ years working in the healthcare industry
  • Intermediate level of proficiency working with MS Excel including formulas, calculations, charts, graphs, etc.
  • Basic level of proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
  • Ability to solve complex problems and present results in a clear manner

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or a related quantitative discipline

Colorado, Connecticut or Nevada Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $64,800 to $116,000. The salary range for Connecticut / Nevada residents is $71,400 to $127,400. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
