General Description / Primary Purpose
The Events Coordinator, under the direction of an Assistant Director or above, is responsible for managing and executing high-quality, industry-focused events and activities at the University of North Florida. The role is a critical part of the Career Services Industry Engagement team, working to craft new ways for industry to connect with UNF students and alumni while regularly communicating directly with them to ensure needs are met.

This position supervises Career Services staff to ensure Career Services meets the needs of our employers quickly and accurately with exceedingly high levels of customer service to create strong connections between employers and UNF students, staff, faculty, and alumni.

Responsible for managing the complete lifecycle of small to large recruiting events at the University of North Florida. Oversees management processes of events from concept, working with Career Services staff as well as faculty and campus partners to ensure the campus community is engaged in the success of Career Services events and activities.

Meets with industry directly through virtual and in-person means, traveling as needed. Oversees execution of recruiting initiatives. During declared campus emergencies, this position may be required to perform specific job-related duties at a designated off campus location or place of residence.

Knowledge of University/College event logistics and implementation as it pertains to a wide range of constituents, including Students, Employers, Faculty and Staff, is crucial to success.

Essential Duties

Job Function
This position serves as the primary coordinator and facilitator of UNF Career Services Events, including but not limited to Networking Mixers, Employer led Information Sessions, and large events such as the UNF Career Week. Builds, manages, and facilitates on-campus engagement opportunities to meet industry hiring and recruitment needs.

Responsible and accountable for facilitation of employer events and activities on campus, both large and small. Events will range in size, budget, and participation. This includes:

  • Oversight of the UNF Career Week in the Fall and Spring semesters. This is Career Services' premier recruiting week, which attracts over 2000 students and 700 employer representatives annually.
  • Networking mixers, employer information sessions, and individual on-campus recruiting days.
  • Serves as liaison to UNF venues and vendors to facilitate bookings, day-of event coordination, photography, catering, etc.
  • Plans on-campus interview schedules for employers in concert with Career Services Industry Engagement staff, communicates with industry partners to plan their hiring days, manages both employer/student scheduling, booking, sets up interview rooms; and notifies office staff of employer schedules to ensure all expectations are met.
  • Works in collaboration with the UNF Industry Engagement Team to grow the number of employers recruiting and hiring from UNF by planning and implementing innovative new events and strategies.
  • Assists with managing ongoing employer sponsorships, ensuring that obligations and expectations are being followed through with excellent communication.
  • Develops strategies to maintain high levels of employer satisfaction and outstanding customer service.
