Combat Systems Shipboard Instructor Job Category: Training Time Type: Full time Minimum Clearance Required to Start: Secret Employee Type: Regular Percentage of Travel Required: Up to 10% Type of Travel: Continental US What You'll Get to Do: The Training Instructor; Operations and Combat Systems will support the NAVSEA Program Executive Office (PEO) for Unmanned and Small Combatants' (USC), Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Program Office (PMS 525) More About the Role: International Training Instruction with an emphasis on Surface Ship Combat Systems and Operations technical ratings. Position requires excellent communication skill and personality to mentor and teach foreign military students how to operate and maintain technical equipment and perform specialized work in a Combat Systems or Operations Department environment. Be able to train foreign military students using mentoring and team building skills in work center functions and WQSB responsibilities ranging from A&C School levels of learning to high-performance skills associated with cross-training and team performance required in a minimally-manned highly automated ship. You'll Bring These Qualifications: * One (1) year of experience providing LCS IVSE instruction or 3 years' experience as an LPO/CPO on an LCS class or similar ship * Five (5) years' experience as U.S. Navy or U.S. Coast Guard surface ship Sailor * Ten (10) years of experience with Navy/Coast Guard shipboard operations and maintenance within the fields of Information Technology, Electronics, Combat Systems, Fire Control Systems, or Gun Control Systems * Three (3) years of experience performing or managing Navy/Coast Guard programs/systems (3M, Work Center leadership, Tag Out, DCPO, etc.) * Two (2) years of experience as an instructor in a Navy Training Environment, to include curriculum maintenance, writing learning objectives, preparing test items, evaluating instructional materials and the results of instruction and counseling students on academic learning problems. * Two (2) years relevant experience interfacing with training systems/simulations for effective and correct presentation of learning objectives. * Ability to develop, organize, and conduct training and educational programs for international sailors * Ability to conduct traditional classroom instruction and support maintenance training to the element level; as well as training on the operational employment of LCS-like Combat Systems Modules * Ability to qualify and train to certify process utilizing shore-based trainer requiring dynamic assessment of watch standers during warfare scenarios.
