Company is looking for a Chief of Staff to the CEO, to help grow, develop, scale, and lead a high-performance, nationally and globally distributed enterprise software company. The Chief of Staff will execute on strategic and tactical initiatives across our fast-growing company, and build value in ways large and small for Company.

Position Responsibilities:

Working closely with CEO to take strategic projects and make them your own, to liaise with other executives and employees to keep things moving, and following up to ensure we are meeting commitments and getting things done.

You 'll work together side-by-side on a daily basis, tackling new problems that are facing Company, defining new systems, finding problems and solving them, and innovating on how to grow value in the company.

You'll be asked to tackle a variety of problems across the business. Your responsibilities will change on a weekly basis. It will be intense and difficult, but you will learn a tremendous amount about enterprise software, organizational and business dynamics, the challenge and messiness of building a company (including acquisitions), and our nation 's governments and public administration at large.

You 'll get to share in the passion and fulfillment that comes from winning together as a team.

This is not an executive assistant role. The right person, however, will have zero hesitation getting their hands dirty and taking on the administrative work required to get a problem solved or produce a positive outcome. Zac's goal with this role is to become more strategic and gain more leverage with the company. Prioritizing higher quality meetings and fewer obligatory or lower-value meetings. This will provide more time for Zac to think, read, write, meet customers, speak, and also more time to drive new and creative ideas. Allowing more time to celebrate company wins, congratulate employees on a job well done, beat the competition, and reward teams.

One of the core CoS responsibilities is to acquire and share knowledge optimally. You should know how to sync on priorities and order the top 5-10 priorities, and then translate these into action items and business outcomes. This applies to the administrative (e.g. sharing context with EAs for calendaring) and the strategic (e.g. acquiring and synthesizing data for high level priorities with executives). When internal processes break, you can see that and then take a first crack at diagnosing the problem and designing a solution. Over time and through discussion with Zac, your hit rate will improve and together you will surface and solve problems at an increasing rate and with less time, energy, and stress.

An indication of progress is improved communication between our CEO and the company, from the tactical to overall vision and top priorities. Zac's calendar will better match his priorities, and his Executive Assistant will have clearer direction and less burden and confusion. You may even be able to resolve low and medium severity issues in time and also bring up high severity issues sooner and with more context.

Examples of possible projects in this role:

' Drafting board, investor, and company communications.

' External communications such as blog posts or social media on the mission, vision, and purpose of the company.

' Arrange, form agendas, prepare, run, and track C- and -E-team offsites and projects covering strategy and operations.

' Work with the CEO and the People Team on how to evolve our culture; document our systems, processes, and goals; research new roles or trends, and keep hiring and talent acquisition moving and operating at a gold standard.

' Market research and planning, including and particularly around corporate development and M&A.

' Project manage cross-functional initiatives pushing them forward and monitoring/reporting on their status.

' Leveraging the CEO's and our company 's extensive networks to further our goals

Minimum Qualifications:

' 5+ years of experience in consulting, banking, private equity, government, media, or similarly intense and skill-building professional development.

' The ability to formulate and articulate opinions, to write effectively and crisply, and to speak your mind.

' Excellent communication skills to engage at all levels of the company, including technical and non-technical audiences.

' You can communicate complex, disparate ideas in a structured and easy-to-consume way -- strong, logical, grammatically correct, and structured writing ability is a must.

' You have great EQ and collaborative interpersonal skills, allowing you to enjoy and thrive in a diverse environment. Knowledge of and fluency in business, including in technology and software.

' Great listener and know how to craft and hue toward priorities.

' You are skilled in building process and ensuring tight execution and follow-up.

' You are a systems thinker able to transform a messy, undefined problem into a repeatable process.

' You can work under tight deadlines while being flexible and responsive to changing business and technical conditions.

' You are a multi-tasker and can ruthlessly prioritize, always asking what the highest leverage task is to solve.

' You are versatile, a self-starter, and can fill a gap or take the initiative with a bias to action.

' You have an Undergraduate Degree with distinction and some leadership experience.
