Serves as a senior management team member as part Company Credit Union. Operates with autonomy in directing the day-to-day activities of the Human Resources. The Human Resources organization includes talent acquisition and employee relations, culture, diversity, equity, and inclusion, organizational performance and development, benefits and compensation. This position will be responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans for Human Resources – short term and long term. This position is expected to help encourage and promote an environment that allows for empowerment, ownership and informed risk taking. The position is expected to promote the development of strategic alliances between departments and will work towards the successful execution to the company’s strategic business plans thereby helping to ensure the financial soundness of the enterprise. The Chief Human Resources officer will participate in various Board of Directors committees, which include, but might be limited to, the Retirement Plan, Policy and Strategic Planning Committees as they relate to Human Resources and employee development.

This position works with the Chief Information Officer and the Chief Risk Officer and General Counsel to support the achievement of Company’s enterprise wide Information Security program that is applicable to Company and all its subsidiaries, as well as the strategic and business plan goals and objectives, while ensuring that the organization manages risk through technical, operational, and procedural safeguards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Regularly reviews and makes recommendations to the President/CEO and/or the other senior management team members or The Board of Directors at the President/CEO’s request, to improve policies that impact employees
  • Regularly reviews and makes recommendations to the President/CEO and/or the other senior management team members’ changes to improve procedures or practices that impact employees
  • Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation to help ensure Company’s compliance
  • Responsible for Company’s compliance to Federal and State legislation pertaining to all employee matters
  • Chairs Company’s Job Evaluation team
  • Regularly reviews and recommends changes as needed in the wage and salary administration
  • Oversees all training functions for Company, whether in-house or by external resources
  • Oversees all recruiting functions for Company
  • Is responsible for management of compensation, benefits, and training resources to ensure Company has appropriate staffing that is well trained and appropriately compensated
  • Causes exit interviews to be conducted to help determine trends in separation in an effort to control turnover and related costs
  • Consults with legal counsel as appropriate, and/or as directed by the President/CEO on employee matters
  • On a consultative basis, works with department managers to assist them in carrying out their responsibilities on employee matters (i.e. disciplinary actions, security investigations, performance issues, etc.)
  • Act as facilitator and resource to senior management team in strategic planning activities
  • Drives the development and maintenance of a state of the art Human Resources Information System (HRIS)
  • Appointed as the S.A.F.E. Act Officer and will ensure regulations are followed as required for the Credit Union
