Compensation: $70000.00 to $110000.00 yearly
Primary Function Lead and manage multiple accounting staff to deliver top quality accounting and tax services to our clients in a variety of industries. This “hands on” detail oriented, dynamic individual is responsible for leading the detailed planning, management, and execution of accounting and tax engagements provided to our clients.
Accounting • Manage, plan, and schedule direct reports to ensure client engagements are done within budget, timely, and in an accurate and efficient manner. • Develop long-term detail oriented relationships with clients through exceptional client service. • Perform a high-level review of client accounting and monthly/annual close of trial balance using client provided documentation. • Review compiled financial statements for Corporations, Not-Profit entities, Partnerships, and Individuals, including workpapers, accounting and adjusting entries, bank reconciliations, and client books and records.
• Train and supervise senior accounting staff on advanced accounting functions and tasks. • Set firm standards and ensure compliance by regularly reviewing and monitoring staff’s use of the firm accounting methods, policies, procedures and principles. • Engage in consulting and special projects as requested by management.
Tax • Review and manage client deliverables including tax returns, extensions, tax planning calculations and projections, and write-up work for all entity types (Individuals, C-Corp, SCorp, Partnership, Fiduciary, and Non-Profit). • Prepare complex U.S. and multi-state income tax returns for business entities, including consolidated and nonconsolidated C-corporations, S-Corporations, Partnerships, Fiduciary, and Non-Profit Organizations. • Prepare complex U.S. and state individual income, gift tax, and estate tax returns. • Advanced knowledge of payroll and sales tax returns. • Communicate directly with existing clients, colleagues, management, and IRS representatives regarding various tax matters. • Conduct complex tax research and prepare memorandum outlining findings and conclusions. • Assist with business development efforts, including but not limited to, meeting with prospective clients, preparing fee quotes and proposals, and evaluating clients’ needs. • Lead department in knowledge of software, processes, and workflows. • Delegate projects to staff that can handle them most efficiently and provide accounting and tax assistance to staff as needed. • Train staff; review and assist in evaluating their work.
