About the team
This position will repot to our Tax Executive or Tax Director over our corporate Tax group.
What you will be doing
You will prepare federal, state and local income tax returns, maintain tax records and be
responsible for all aspects of sales and property tax liabilities for multiple legal entities.
u2022 Maintains current knowledge of tax laws, updates and revisions and informs management of issues affecting FIS.
u2022 Reviews proposals for tax implications and recommends actions that meet business plans while managing tax liability.
u2022 Investigates and reconciles discrepancies.
u2022 Anticipates potential tax filing conflicts and resolves before returns are filed, i.e., acquisitions, fixed purchase option leases, etc.
u2022 Reconciles any year-end balances and recover any tax overpayments.
u2022 Requests refunds for dual taxation, incorrect assessment and exempt property.
u2022 Assists with tax audits.
u2022 Monitors internal reporting software database for integrity and maintenance.
u2022 Other related duties assigned as needed
What you bring
u2022 Bachelor's degree required, accounting or finance. Remain knowledgeable on current tax regulations.
u2022 Typically requires five+ years professional tax experience filing returns in multi-state locations.
u2022Good understanding of generally accepted accounting principles as well as company accounting policies, procedures and standards
u2022 Knowledge of federal, state and local income, use and sales tax concepts, practices and procedures for multiple entities in multiple jurisdictions
u2022 Communicates ideas both verbally and in written form in a clear, concise and professional manner
u2022 Ability to analyze and solve problems using learned techniques and tools
u2022 Analytical and statistical examination skills
u2022 Demonstrated ability to plan and accomplish work to ensure critical deadlines are met
u2022 Ability to create spreadsheets and demonstrated proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office and accounting software
u2022 Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, clients and public
