In this role you are responsible for advanced process analysis, emergency troubleshooting, repair and PM maintenance for production departments. You will be developing scope, project plans, timelines, and resource requirements for groundbreaking projects in Monomer Preparation and DI Water Facilities. You will provide transparent leadership for continuous process, controls, equipment, and technology improvement. There will be opportunities to drive the activities of multi-functional teams (vendors, contractors, technicians, quality engineers, regulatory specialists, corporate SMEs, etc.) to achieve and exceed departmental goals. You will actively collaborate with other supply chain organizations to provide for project implementation and resource support. You will also have the opportunity to provide mentorship on department safety, environmental, and ergonomic policies and objectives. Additionally, you may provide technical support to other Operations Support Functions as requested.
The Staff Engineer – Operations Support will:
• Provides technical support for all equipment within the Formulations Department including maintenance and optimization on existing electro/mechanical equipment, while reducing process variability and addressing equipment reliability issues. • Identifies, plans and executes major projects involved with process improvement. • Participates in solving equipment, systems, and process problems to prevent the occurrence of product nonconformity. Provides mentorship to Process Engineers/Engineer Technicians in troubleshooting efforts. • Prepares project related documentation such as System Validation work, Operations Procedure, HECP, SOP, JSA, calibration and maintenance procedures. • Provides training and acts as a resource to Formulations Engineering Technicians and Formulations Technicians in areas of fixing and maintaining equipment. • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
• A minimum of a Bachelors degree in a technical discipline such as engineering or industrial management is required. • A minimum of seven (7) years of relevant plant engineering experience with BS degree or a minimum of five (5) years of experience with a master’s degree. • Experience working in a regulated FDA environment is preferred. • Project Management experience with confirmed planning, organizational, and time management skills is required.• Shown leadership skills including motivating, negotiating, and providing direction in a multi-functional team environment with successful results is required.• Proven ability to handle multiple priorities, tasks and responsibilities in a dynamic operation is required.• Advanced analytical and problem-solving competence is required.• A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are required.• Ability to translate technical jargon into language that is understandable to non-technical individuals is preferred.• This position is located in Jacksonville, FL and may require up to 15% domestic or international travel.
