Job Summary:

The Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for entering G/L transactions and maintaining a double entry accounting ERP system including the preparation and maintenance of subsidiary schedules.   The position will also be responsible for coordinating and preparing core financial reports for multiple entities, supporting annual independent audits, and preparing actual vs budgeted financial reports.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Posting of financial transactions through accounting software
  • Coordinate the ERP system for financial reporting and maintenance of sub-ledgers for accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, accrued liabilities, debt            and equity for parent and all subsidiaries
  • Ensure efficiency and accuracy of accounting records
  • Prepares or assists in preparing internal and external financial statements by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system
  • Prepares or assists in preparing accurate supporting schedules requested by independent outside auditors for annual financial audits
  • Extensive knowledge and application experience of accrual basis accounting
  • Review and posting of monthly, quarterly and yearly accruals
  • Perform account analysis and reconciliations, including bank statements and credit card accounts
  • Prepares payments by accruing expenses; assigning account numbers; requesting disbursements; reconciling accounts
  • Provides answers to accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data, when necessary
  • Protects organization's value by keeping all information confidential
  • Accomplishes accounting and organization mission by completing related results as needed
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating          in professional organizations

Required Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
  • Experience with managing general ledger interface of integrated/module based Enterprise Resource Planning system
  • Ability to manage general ledger and financial/budgeting reporting programs
  • Double Entry Accounting
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Deadline oriented
  • Ability to perform detailed tasks with accuracy
  • Ability to supervise and coordinate the activity of others 
  • Working knowledge of windows based office productivity tools including word processor, spreadsheet and graphical presentation programs

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business management from an accredited institution required
  • Minimum of 7 years of accounting experience 
  • CPA/CMA license or equivalent experience preferred
