Description

The Senior Accountant role is responsible for the timely, effective, and accurate completion of all Balance Sheet Reconciliations, Journal Entries and Supporting Schedules required to provide sound Balance Sheet oversight for the corporation. This includes providing detailed oversight, processing, and reporting for the Fixed Asset Inventory and supporting the month end close process to completion.

This role requires strong attention detail and self-organization coupled with strong analytical and financial accounting skills.

Responsibilities

· Support Month End Close Support and Balance Sheet Accounting

o Support the timely close of the General Ledger and timely Financial and Management Reporting each month.

o Perform monthly Balance Sheet Reconciliations and ensure all documentation is included and all reconciling items are resolved compliant with Accounting policy .

o Prepare and post monthly General Ledger journal entries and ensure all postings to the GL are accurate and appropriate.

o Prepare and provide weekly Flash Report to Finance leadership for review.

o Prepare ad hoc reports, analysis and address information requests as needed.

o Develop, maintain, and utilize function documentation, SOPs, and Accounting Manual

· Provide Fixed Asset Management and Oversight

o Perform monthly Fixed Asset account reconciliations ensuring all supporting documentation is included and all reconciling items are resolved compliant with Accounting policy.

§ Record journal entries to support month end close and as required for Fixed Assets.

o Maintain the Fixed Asset registry including updates for acquisitions, sales, transfers, and disposals of assets.

§ Ensure all supporting depreciation schedules are accurate, current, and compliant with Accounting Policy. Ensure asset documentation is organized and stored in library.

§ Perform quarterly fixed asset physical inventory validation and provide reporting.

o Prepare ad hoc reports, analysis and address information requests as needed.

o Develop, maintain, and utilize function documentation, SOPs, and Accounting Manual

· Provide Audit and Tax Filing Support

o Organize the collection and submission of Audit and Tax filing information requests to support the timely completion of audits and tax filings to deadlines.

· General Accounting Department and Ad Hoc Request Support

o Support maintenance of the Accounting & Finance department library.

o Support Accounting Helpdesk Inbox and incoming calls.

o Field ad hoc requests for accounting information and data analysis as required.
