Vaco is hiring for a Real Estate Paralegal in Jacksonville, Florida. This is a contract to hire opportunity.
Pay Range $55K - $70K

Practice Areas: Real Estate

SUMMARY:
The candidate must work well in a team environment and provide support to attorneys by performing a wide variety of tasks with fellow paralegals and professional assistants. The position entails performing duties of a responsible and confidential nature; expediting the workflow of lawyers; and maintaining positive contact with clients; attorneys and other staff. Furthermore; the candidate must have the ability to meet challenges outside of the current job description and be able to solve problems creatively with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manage real estate cases.
Draft legal documents; including correspondence and pleadings.
Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings and client meetings.
Assist attorneys with calendaring and meeting deadlines.
Organize and manage files; documents and exhibits.
Professionally communicate directly with clients and other attorneys.
File documents with the courts.
Work in a team environment by providing support to fellow paralegals and professional assistants; doing both billable and non-billable tasks.
Perform special projects for attorneys.
Ascertain the priority and urgency of matters and be able to respond in a quick and efficient manner; use initiative and judgment to minimize the effect in a lawyer's absence; and refer matters to appropriate delegated authority.
Provide accurate; concise; ethical and timely work to their supervising attorneys and clients.
Other duties as assigned.

WORK-RELATED EXPERIENCE:
Law firm experience in the areas of real estate is necessary. A minimum of five (5) years of prior law firm experience in this area is preferred.

LICENSING; CERTIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma or GED is required.
An AA in Paralegal Studies is preferred. A Certified Paralegal Certificate is preferred.

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
The candidate must possess good verbal and written communication skills; organization skills; prioritization/time management skills; and work effectively under stressful conditions.

CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS:
This position operates in a service department environment and the candidate must be familiar with the needs and expectations of clients. The candidate must possess above average to highly developed customer service skills in order to satisfy these expectations.

OTHER ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
The candidate must possess strong typing skills; computer skills; filing skills; telephone skills; language skills (including grammar; spelling; etc.) and perform all the functions of the Firm's various software programs and computer hardware competently. The candidate must have the ability to respond to the needs of the Firm by being flexible with hours; assignments and overtime.
