JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for managing large, complex projects and provides a single point of contact for those projects. Accountable for establishing project management framework, tracking progress, managing risk, and controlling change in order to ensure delivery that meets time, cost and quality objectives. The position may work directly for a project sponsor or for a Program Manager with limited supervision

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
•Provide project management expertise in order to plan, organize, control and deliver multiple projects; assure compliance with company project management policies and standards
•Work with functional managers across the organization to assure complete and appropriate resourcing of projects; act as liaison with all business units and subject matter experts to maintain strategic link to business needs
•Create and execute internal project communication plan that includes maintenance of project documents, project meeting highlights and project data
•Secures documented acceptance of project deliverables; control project scope and acquire the necessary approval for changes
•Participate in and coordinate issue identification and resolution, as well as risk identification and mitigation
•Participate in the establishment, organization, and implementation of short-and long-range goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures; monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and effect changes required for improvement
•Provide mentoring of less experienced Project Managers on project management standards, frameworks, methodologies and life cycles
•Supports Lean Portfolio Management, working with Product Owners and Divisional leaders to champion initiatives through the Portfolio Kanban states positioning initiatives for governance approval and overall delivery success.
•Manages technical projects including all aspects of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
•Facilitates Organizational Change Management (OCM) on large initiatives throughout the Enterprise.
•Manages projects in coordination with Product Owners for agile teams aligned to the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
•In-depth knowledge and proven application of project management methodologies and full project life cycle processes
•Ability to quickly build and motivate project teams to levels of high performance
•Proficient in MS Office including Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
•Demonstrated initiative and ability to complete short- and long-term projects
•Advanced knowledge of Lean and Agile delivery methods and roles including the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
•Understanding of an Agile mindset and Business Agility.
• Strong leadership and project management skills with proven ability to facilitate cross-functional teams
•Dynamic organizational and planning skills; evidenced by the ability to effectively and efficiently manage a multitude of varied project tasks
•Demonstrated initiative and ability to complete short and long term projects
•Ability to build and motivate project teams to levels of high performance
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to facilitate or solve complex problems through analytical approaches at all levels of the organization.
•Proven and adaptable Servant Leader, demonstrating organizational savvy, motivation, facilitation, negotiation and collaboration skills to ensure delivery of value across multiple teams and verticals.
•Demonstration of Entrepreneurial Mindset with ownership, take charge mentality; Assuming full responsibility/accountability.

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
•Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study OR 4 years relevant experience, OR a combination of college education and relevant experience equivalent to 4 years.
AND
•8 or more years project manager experience to include 3 years in a lead project management capacity
•PMP Certification or working towards one

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
•10 or more year of project management experience
• 5 or more years project management experience in the insurance industry
• PMP Certification

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, hear and converse over the telephone, and key frequently on a computer (4 or more hours per day).
