This position is responsible for converting prospective customers into new loan applications by presenting customers with appropriate mortgage products and pricing based on their borrowing needs.  Borrowers will be primarily sourced through the SLS servicing and subservicing portfolio.  MLO will sell the loan products through the use of inbound and outbound sales calls.  Once the customer has applied for a loan, the MLO will manage the customer experience from origination through closing, ensuring a positive borrowing experience.
Primary Accountabilities
  • Sell multiple mortgage loan products to prospective borrowers with the primary goal of converting them into closed loan accounts. 
  • Manage active pipeline from origination to closing. Follow up with borrowers in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Provide excellent customer service
  • Determine and communicate loan level pricing with customers
  • Work effectively with fulfilment departments to ensure loan requirements are satisfied and deadlines are met
  • Analyze underwriting guidelines to determine the documentation and locking/pricing requirements for each borrower.
  • Efficiently work in the necessary technology platforms to maximize time spend selling.
  • Work with management to develop and execute on sales plans to ensure the success of the business.
  • Continually develop sales skills through product training and educational opportunities.
  • Adhere to all federal and state laws and compliance guidelines.
  • Learn various loan programs, processes and stay current with changes
  • Must be a self-starter and self-motivated to meet job expectations and goals
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment

  • Ability to operate in multiple technology application systems to include MS Word, Excel, Outlooks, Powerpoint, CRM systems, Loan Origination software, the internet and others
  • Ellie Mae Encompass or similar mortgage lending systems experience.
  • or similar CRM experience

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1 years previous mortgage experience with heavy emphasis on customer contact
  • Previous employment that includes interaction with clients by phone or direct contact
  • 1 years Mortgage Loan Officer experience
  • Must be S.A.F.E. Act registered through NMLS **or** Have at least 1 year of mortgage related experience AND become S.A.F.E. Act registered through NMLS upon hire.
  • NMLS licensed in one or more of the following states; CA, FL, GA, IL, MI
Travel Required
It is expected that this position may include travel up to 10% of the time.  This is subject to change based on many factors, including business needs.

Ability to read/interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals; write routine reports and correspondence; and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Ability
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs
